Cotton Candy Kush Strain Information
Cotton Candy Kush is a Sativa-dominant hybrid strain that is close to pure Sativa. This strain is a cross between Lavender and Power Plant.
The former is a slightly Indica-dominant hybrid from Amsterdam, also known as Soma #10.
The latter is an almost all Sativa hybrid from South Africa.
Cotton Candy Kush: Aroma and Flavor
The palate of the strain is also reminiscent of cotton candy and bubble gum, with sweet fruity and floral notes, and just a hint of citrus. When cured, these flowers smell sweet and fruity, almost bordering on saccharine. This strain burns smooth and tastes of fruity, cloying bubble gum on the exhale.
Appearance
Cotton Candy Kush has a fluffy and sugary texture. Thus, the abundance of sticky trichomes adds to its resemblance to cotton candy. Also, its leaves are forest green and shot through with pollen-collecting pistils that begin as small white hairs that turn pink as plants mature. It has a large bud that shows lavender colors and mesmerizing metallic hues closer to the flowering time.
Crystalline trichomes give the flowers a very sticky texture, again underscoring the strain’s similarity to carnival-bought cotton candy.
THC Content
This strain THC content averages 17-22%, and almost no CBD. Likewise, Silver Stem’s phenotype is a bit more potent, reaching 24% in one of the latest testings.
Effects
Cotton Candy Kush takes hold quickly but gently, conferring a tingly relaxation behind the eyes and temples that spreads into a smile and moves down through the shoulders and core.
